Had the pleasure of working with country superstar Scotty McCreery and my buddy Jeff Ray to capture promotional images for his new album entitled ‘Same Truck’. All of these pictures were taken near Nashville, Tennessee on 35mm film!
Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National park are next-door neighbors in northwest Wyoming. If you’re going to visit one you should definitely take the time to experience the other. The natural wonders never cease in these places. The mountains are epic, the wildlife is abundant, and you can see some of the largest geysers and geothermal pools in the world. If the crowds in Yellowstone are a bit overwhelming, Grand Teton definitely provided a more peaceful experience.
I wanted to be able to look back on 2020 years from now and have something positive to remember. Getting outdoors and visiting some of the most beautiful sights in the USA sounded like the best option for an adventure. My buddies Matt and Pappy joined me out west to explore our wonderful national parks including White Sands, Mesa Verde, Grand Canyon, Zion, Arches, Rocky Mountain, and Great Sand Dunes.
Portraits are my favorite type of photography. I love shooting people in their favorite environments and capturing them in a specific moment in their lives. The trust that the photographer and subject must share is incredible. It is an intimate process that can yield stunning photos when the relationship is right.
It was another wild SXSW this year. I tried to find some time for shenanigans in between various jobs during the festival. Highlights included the interactive SXSWestworld experience, Saint Motel followed immediately by Matt and Kim, seeing Rian Johnson and Mark Hamill discuss The Last Jedi, Elon Musk crashing the Westworld panel, Bill freakin' Murray, and seeing the legend himself, Steven Spielberg, in person for the World Premiere of Ready Player One.
Shooting live music is always a thrill. The excitement and energy in the room is invigorating. Capturing moments that epitomize the feeling of each artist and band is a challenge I welcome. Living in the "Live Music Capital of the World" certainly has its perks, including South by Southwest. Bands featured here include Shakey Graves (gallery cover), Sam Fender, Wild Child, Analogix, Future Islands, the Parker Jazz Club band, Sylvan Esso, and Me and My Brother.
Images from some events I have recently shot, including charity auctions, career fairs, political rallies, dinner shows, and other corporate events. Shoot me an email if you need a photographer for your next event!
It's easy to forget how great breathing fresh air feels when you live near a big city. These photographs were mostly taken while walking through parks or hiking on trails. Mother Nature is a beautiful thing, so let’s do what we can to protect her.
Sweet Spirit, led by Sabrina Ellis and Andrew Cashen, is one of the most exciting bands emerging from the Austin music scene and their music videos are always wildly creative! Here are behind the scenes photos from the music video shoots of “No Dancing” and "The Mighty", both directed by Ed Dougherty and shot by Taylor Washington.
Shot on my Dad's old Minolta SR-T 101. Digital photography is great for a number of reasons, but it can't recreate the excitement of getting your film developed and seeing how the shots turned out.
The beauty of the PNW area certainly lives up to the hype. The air is so fresh, the forests so alive with waterfalls and streams, and there are mountains in every direction. I always try to hike as many trails as I can when there and venture out to the many magical places in the region such as the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park and the Enchantments in the Cascades.
Sept. 29, 2018 — Approx. 55,000 Texans showed up to Auditorium Shores in support of Senate Candidate Beto O’Rourke. Many talented musicians performed throughout the night including Leon Bridges and Willie Nelson. It was an inspiring night filled with messages of unity and hope for the great state of Texas and the country.

Seeked out the fresh air and awe-inspiring views of Yosemite National Park with some old friends. Then we met up with the rest of the gang for a weekend in San Francisco. A great way to get away from the Texas heat.
Shot on Digital and 35mm
I don't think there is any type of photography quite as important as wedding photography. It's one of the most beautiful days of your life, so you want the memories to be just as beautiful. There's a huge responsibility on the photographer to catch the moments that will be cherished for a lifetime.
I spent two weeks traveling Central Europe in November with some good friends. We flew in and out of Dublin, but most of our time was in Berlin, Prague, and Budapest. The rich centuries-old history of Europe is always humbling. The art/history museums are extraordinary, the music is beautiful, and as with the rest of Europe the churches are magnificent. I loved walking around each city and admiring the breathtaking architecture that seemed neverending. We also had our fair share of Czech pilsners, currywurst, goulash, and doner kebabs.
Shot on Digital and 35mm.
My dear friend Jessica has been asking me to visit her in Pennsylvania ever since she moved there to attend college at Allegheny. After about eight years of invitations I finally bought a ticket to Pittsburgh. We toured the Carrie Furnace, an impressive symbol of the city’s powerful steel industry. Jess also pointed me in the direction of many museums, including the Mattress Factory and the Andy Warhol Museum. My favorite experience was our weekend trip to Ohiopyle State Park. We checked out the famous Fallingwater house, went whitewater rafting, and hiked to some pretty scenic waterfalls. Jess and John were great hosts and made my trip very enjoyable!
Started 2019 out in West Texas, traveling around the Davis Mountains, Marfa, and Alpine. It’s always a pleasure getting away from it all and driving around this remote and beautiful region of Texas. Shot on Fujichrome Provia 100F and Portra 800, and digital.
Explored the Big City with dear friends, mostly from Texas ironically. The cultural diversity, tremendous architecture, and vibrant art community were truly inspiring. I often found myself just roaming the city, in Central Park, on the streets, in the subway, watching people go about their day.
Family is such an important part of many people's lives. Capturing the love between parents and their kids, siblings, and couples is always a rewarding experience. It's hard for me to look at the happiness in these photos and not smile.
First trip to Japan. We primarily stayed in Tokyo, but also ventured out to Hakone and Nikko in our week in the country. I love exploring other parts of the world. You get to see many new and exciting things but also you get to see all of the similarities we share. There was a ton of amazing food, but I think we had ramen nearly once a day.
My family and I try to make it down to Surfside beach once a year. Texas beaches aren't as pretty as Florida or the Caribbean but they sure do have a lot of character. It's always great to kick back with family and friends and get some nice sunburns.
Shot on 35mm and Digital
Different views in the city I call home.
Shot on various 35mm stocks.
I had the pleasure of shooting the behind the scenes photography for the horror-comedy feature film 'Derelicts'. So many friends of mine worked countless hours on set and in post-production to get this film made. I can't wait to see the final product. It's currently playing in film festivals around the country. Directed by BC Glassberg, Cinematography by Herbie Wei.
'Scanners' is an offbeat sci-fi comedy short film produced by the talented folks at Pan-Up Productions. I was really excited by the photos I was able to capture on set because of the extraordinary lighting and production design. 'Scanners' is currently playing festivals across the country. Directed by Natalie Jenison, Cinematography by Emmett Kerr-Perkinson.
